End of October 2016, IAF and AMST signed an upgrade contract for the three AIRFOX DISO spatial disorientation trainers installed at Bangalore (2004), Hyderabad, and Hindan (2009). The upgrade will lift the 3 AIRFOX DISOs to the same technology level. Final Acceptance will be end of September 2017.

AMST introduced their brand new OMC (Optimal Motion Cueing) technology to the FSEMC (Flight Simulator Engineering and Maintenance Conference) auditorium. This technology will replace the classical wash-out cueing within the next years and improve simulator experience substantially.

AMST attended the Japan International Aerospace Exhibition. The company presented its Virtual Terrain Image Generation System (VTIGS) together with ITOCHU. VTIGS takes night vision training to the next level. Many thanks to the ITOCHU team for their great support and perfect organisation. Thanks also go to the instructor Douglas Vine with his immense experience in night vision training.

AMST delivered an advanced pilot selection system to Myanmar mid of June. The final acceptance took place in September. The solution allows for pilot selection in 2 stages. In stage 1, subjects do tests in a classroom with 8 test stations linked to a server. In stage 2, subjects are tested on a screening simulator with motion platform. The excellent instructor training was done by Mag. Christian Czihak.

AMST attended the ICAO UPRT (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training) workshop in Toulouse/France, hosted by Airbus. Worldwide experts exchanged their ideas on how to best implement actual UPRT rules within their current training. The common sense was that proper instructor qualification is crucial.

AMST completed the upgrade of the human training centrifuge in Königsbrueck, near Dresden. The upgrade of the control system included a software upgrade to MS Windows 10 operating system. Additionally, the DC motor operating since 1985 was overhauled.
