Hellenic President Inaugurates AMST’s Spatial Disorientation Trainer at Center of Aviation Medicine in Athens

Ranshofen, November 2025 – AMST proudly announces the official inauguration of its AIRFOX DISO Spatial Disorientation Trainer at the Center of Aviation Medicine in Athens. The ceremony was held on 25 November 2025 under the highest auspices, with Konstantinos Tasoulas, President of the Hellenic Republic, personally presiding over the event – a clear testament to the strategic importance of advanced aviation training for national defence.

The inauguration gathered more than 300 distinguished guests, including senior government officials, military leaders, and representatives of the Hellenic Air Force. The event highlighted Greece’s commitment to investing in state-of-the-art training technologies that safeguard pilots and strengthen operational readiness.

The new AIRFOX DISO system replaces a legacy trainer from AMST that served the Hellenic Air Force for over two decades. Awarded through an international tender, AMST delivered the project on time and within budget, reaffirming its reputation for technical excellence and reliability. The AIRFOX DISO provides pilots with realistic, controlled scenarios to experience and overcome spatial disorientation, enabling them to recognize symptoms early and employ countermeasures – a critical capability for modern flight safety.

Franz Pflug, Managing Director of AMST, was present at the ceremony and commented: “Having the President of the Hellenic Republic inaugurate our system is an extraordinary honour and underscores the trust placed in AMST. Our team’s flawless execution and professionalism were praised as ‘perfect project management’ – a recognition that strengthens our long-standing partnership with the Hellenic Air Force.”

This milestone reinforces AMST’s position as a global leader in human factors training and aviation medicine. It demonstrates the commitment to delivering world-class aircrew training solutions that protect lives and enhance mission success.
